Nkunku moved to Chelsea in the summer of 2023 from RB Leipzig, however, the Frenchman missed most of last season due to a number of injuries. This season under Enzo Maresca, the Frenchman has not been a set starter in the Premier League. As such, the attacker is reportedly looking to exit Stamford Bridge in January with Manchester United interested in signing Nkunku as Ruben Amorim's first signing.

As per The Telegraph, Chelsea aren't fully opposed to letting Nkunku leave in January as long as they can recoup the full £52 million ($66.9m) that they paid to sign the Frenchman last summer despite the two parties still having a contract until the summer of 2029.

This season, Nkunku has only played 688 minutes across all competitions so far, however, the Frenchman is currently the squad's highest goalscorer as he has scored a total of 10 goals and provided one assist. The second-highest scorer in the side is Cole Palmer, who has played almost 400 minutes more than Nkunku.
WHAT NEXT FOR NKUNKU?
Maresca hasn't handed Nkunku a single start in the Premier League so far this season and as such, it is highly unlikely that he will be in the starting lineup when Chelsea return to action after the international break against Leicester City on November 23.
