Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter to react after full-back DeAndre Yedlin received a straight red card for a foul on Diogo Jota.
The USA international committed the offence with the scores at one a piece. Yedlin was caught on the ball and was left with no choice but to haul down the man who scored the opening goal, unless he wanted to see the 22-year-old double his and Wolves’ tally.
However, Mike Dean’s decision was a debatable one, as it looked like Jamaal Lascelles was covering for the full-back’s error and would’ve made it across in time to deny the Portuguese forward a one-on-one situation.
The decision to give Yedlin his marching orders ultimately saw the Magpies concede a last-minute goal to in-form right-back Matt Doherty, which cost the Tynesiders a point and saw last season’s Championship winners take all three.
As you would expect, the St James’ Park faithful were not happy to say the least, and feel that their player’s shirt was pulled before the foul in question occurred…
