With the January transfer window looming and his contract situation unresolved, this could well prove to be the final few weeks of Alexis Sanchez’s Arsenal career.
His reluctance to sign a new deal and Arsene Wenger’s refusal to part with the Chile international during the summer has inevitably left something of a sour taste, but Sanchez’s potential departure does oblige us to consider how significant a player he’s been for Arsenal since arriving from Barcelona in 2014 and whether he’s put himself amongst the club’s greatest players of the Premier League era.
