Appearing in an interview on talkSPORT, the England boss was asked by Stuart Pearce to select a player from another country he wishes he had available, plumping for Manchester City star and 2024 Ballon d'Or winner Rodri.

Tuchel said: "That's a difficult one. Rodri. But not injured."

Tuchel is still searching for the right combination in his England midfield, with Curtis Jones, Declan Rice, Jordan Henderson and Conor Gallagher all starting at least one of his four matches in charge. The quest for a permanent holding midfielder has been a feature of the England team for several years, justifying Tuchel's selection.
